IBS Engineer

Keep telecom networks running smoothly by installing, commissioning, and maintaining Huawei equipment while solving field issues and supporting reliable network rollouts.

Job Summary
Responsible for installation, commissioning, integration, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Huawei IBS/telecom network equipment. The engineer will support network rollout, site implementation, fault resolution, and network optimization while ensuring quality and SLA compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, integrate, and commission Huawei telecom/network equipment.

  • Perform IBS/site implementation activities, including equipment installation, cabling, power connections, and site acceptance.

  • Configure Huawei transmission, IP, access, or wireless equipment as applicable to the project.

  • Perform hardware and software troubleshooting and resolve network/site-related faults.

  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance for Huawei equipment.

  • Perform equipment upgrades, expansions, migrations, and software upgrades.

  • Analyze alarms, logs, and performance issues and coordinate with NOC and other technical teams for resolution.

  • Carry out integration and acceptance testing according to project requirements.

  • Prepare installation, commissioning, test, and site acceptance reports.

  • Coordinate with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams during deployment activities.

  • Ensure work complies with Huawei standards, customer specifications, HSE requirements, and project timelines.

  • Provide technical support for escalated network and equipment issues.

Required Skills

  • 4–5 years of hands-on experience in telecom/network engineering.

  • Strong experience with Huawei equipment and platforms.

  • Knowledge of Huawei U2000/iManager or relevant Huawei network management systems.

  • Good understanding of IP networking, VLAN, routing, switching, Ethernet, and transmission fundamentals.

  • Experience with commissioning, integration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

  • Ability to read network diagrams, technical drawings, and equipment documentation.

  • Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.

  • Willingness to work at customer sites and perform field activities when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

  • Huawei certifications are an advantage.

  • Experience in telecom operators or large-scale network rollout projects.

  • Good communication and reporting skills.

  • Valid driving license may be required for field-based roles.
