Senior PreSales Engineer – IT Infrastructure Systems

Design high-availability infrastructure for Saudi enterprises and government, shaping winning solutions across compute, storage, cloud, virtualization, and disaster recovery.

Job Purpose

The Senior PreSales Engineer – IT Infrastructure Systems is responsible for end-to-end technical solutioning across enterprise compute, storage, hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), virtualization, backup, disaster recovery, and hybrid cloud integration.

The role is responsible for gathering and prioritizing client business and technical requirements, designing high-availability architectures, preparing accurate RFI/RFP/RFQ responses and compliance matrices, and working closely with Account Managers, OEMs, and Value-Added Distributors (VADs) in Saudi Arabia to drive successful deal execution and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Sales team to provide full technical presales support and achieve enterprise sales targets.

  • Gather and analyze customer technical and business requirements and translate them into scalable IT infrastructure solutions.

  • Design high-availability, scalable, and cost-effective infrastructure architectures.

  • Demonstrate the business value, scalability, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and Return on Investment (ROI) of proposed solutions.

  • Lead and participate in the end-to-end completion of RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs, including technical bid coordination, discovery workshops, sizing, BoM generation, technical proposal writing, and compliance matrices.

  • Align the company's hardware, software, implementation, and managed services capabilities with customer requirements.

  • Promote infrastructure upgrade and transformation opportunities across enterprise and government accounts in Saudi Arabia.

  • Design, coordinate, and oversee Proof-of-Concept (POC) activities, benchmarking, and technical demonstrations.

  • Maintain strong relationships with key IT infrastructure OEMs and local VADs in Saudi Arabia to support special pricing, quotation speed, and BoM validation.

  • Collaborate with Product Managers and OEM channel teams to identify market opportunities, track product roadmaps, and generate new leads.

  • Provide technical enablement and infrastructure product training to internal Sales teams.

  • Participate in commercial and margin optimization discussions with OEMs, principals, and distributors.

  • Engage with OEM Presales Architects to stay updated on product releases, roadmaps, and End-of-Life (EOL) strategies.

  • Assist Sales leaders in addressing complex technical objections and closing high-value infrastructure deals.

  • Perform competitive benchmarking across compute, storage, virtualization, HCI, and backup solutions.

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure presales or solution architecture.

  • Deep knowledge of datacenter architecture, high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), business continuity (BCP), and storage topology design.

  • Strong workload sizing and performance analysis skills, including IOPS, throughput, compute capacity, and capacity planning.

  • Comprehensive understanding of licensing models, including per-core, per-socket, capacity-based, and SaaS/subscription models.

  • Proven consultative and value-based technical selling capabilities.

  • Proven experience engaging with technical decision-makers, IT Managers, CTOs, and CIOs.

  • Established professional relationships with IT infrastructure OEMs and VADs in Saudi Arabia.

  • Strong understanding of the Saudi IT infrastructure market.

  • Strong relationships with KSA-based OEMs and VADs.

  • Experience with HPE, Dell Technologies, VMware, Nutanix, and Veeam.

  • Experience supporting enterprise and government customers in Saudi Arabia.
